Jyoti Mistry - If you don't like it, close your eyes

Jyoti Mistry is a South African artist and film professor (University of Gothenburg). Her work has previously been featured at festivals from Toronto to Durban as well as Kunsthaus Zürich and non the least Berlinale 2020 where we interviewed her about her short film Cause of Death.

The film is comprised of mini-vignettes re-arranging our view on femicide previously marginalised in the historic archives. A blend of animation and found footage countering how violence against women has usually been documented for future generations.
